Cat Poetry
Cat in Moonlight
She threads mysterious avenues of grass,
Her tawny flanks dark-mottled with the dew,
From tunneled blades her widened green eyes stare
At moving patterns where the moon brakes through.
Beguiled by night, wild odors allure,
She arches, flexes, ears alert for sound,
Treads with high step, deceptively demure,
The curious white ground.
